Description
We are on the 5th Avenue in Manhattan outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, or colloquially "the Met".
We watch shots from the museum’s facade designed by American architect Calvert Vaux and his collaborator Jacob Wrey Mould and moments from people's daily lives as they walk in hurry. We stand on a young woman who crosses the street holding a St. Bernard dog and on the surprised man behind her, as he detected the camera.
We are taken in the museum’s interior, to the section of European weapons and armor, where the lens wanders to the iron-clad warriors of the Middle Ages and their armored horses. Behind them, the banners stand out.
Afterwards, we are taken to the section of Egyptian art where we watch close-up shots from the outer coffin of Henuttawy, Singer of the god Amun Ra. The lens follows the invocations in the hieroglyphs to the goddess Mut (or Mout), and we see the elaborate necklace and her depiction.
The film closes with a relief depicting a seated man.
