Description
Achmelvich is a settlement located in the Highland region of Scotland.

Achmelvich lies on the surrounding slopes, but the film focuses on the beach, which has is known for its cleanliness and has also been awarded the Blue Flag.

The first shots of the film are from a car heading to the coast. While arriving, we see a small bay, with a beautiful, sandy beach.

People swim, a woman goes water skiing, lots of small boats sail around. Shots taken from the sea follow and we see a big fishing boat, the rocky landscape, groups of seagulls sitting on the rocks and seals swimming or lying on the rocks too.

Then follows a shot of a fish caught on the hook and some people on a boat trying to catch it.

Creator's description

At yet another beach nearby, at Achmelvich, there are positively crowds of holiday makers –a great change from a few years ago, when these beaches were completely deserted even in high midsummer. The water here is perceptibly warmer than on the north coast, and water sports of all kinds are in full swing.

And now let’s go for a brief excursion from Lochinver to see the seals. There they are –can you spot their little heads? Delightful creatures, aren’t they?
